The ELS was first off the block to welcome the Freshers by holding the Ethnic Freshers’ Welcome on September 25, 2015. Over 700 first year students enthusiastically participated in competitions like Mr. and Ms. Fresher, Talent Hunt and danced joyfully in the DJ Night.
On November 04 2015, the ELS organized the Intra Editorial Event in association with QuirkyByte Blogs, in which 12 SRites were selected to work with the company.
On January 21, 2016 , the ELS screened ‘Dead Poets Society’ for about 100 eager S’rites who critically analysed the movie.
The ELS organised a refreshing trip to Jaipur Literature Festival’16 (JLF’16) from 23-25 January 2016 to introduce all S’Rites to a new world of literature. Sightseeing opportunities at the Amer Fort and a leisurely visit to Chokhi Dhani provided a brief exposure to the rich culture of Jaipur to the more than 150 students.
The ELS released the first edition of the annual newsletter, Iridescence, offline on January 31, 2016.
The ELS organised its annual literature festival, Zephyr with the theme, ‘Utopia’ from February22-24, 2016. Various competitive events like Pictionary, Newsroom, Just A Minute, Threading Tales, Timepen (a creative writing competition) and The ELS Eargasm (a radio show competition) witnessed enthusiastic participation. Two renowned and meritorious authors - Durjoy Dutta and Ravinder Singh, addtressed the audience and Kenneth Sebastian, a talented and acclaimed comedian, performed. This attracted an unprecedented turnout from all over the University.
