In keeping with the vision of Shri Ram College of Commerce to be A College of Global Choice, The Office of International Programmes (OIP) creates and expands international synergies with acclaimed global universities and institutions through cross-cultural and academic exchange programmes. OIP facilitates collaborations and cooperation in education, research and academic activities by creating, developing and fostering international exchange programmes. OIP facilitates establishing dialogues and interactions on global issues while inculcating and nurturing talents of students to take them on a global scale.

OUR VISION AND MISSION

To create platforms of global exposure for the budding talents and inspirit their global competencies so as to embrace the challenges of a dynamic world with courage and confidence. OIP dedicates itself to:

ELEMENTS OF THE PROGRAMMES

The programmes are based on various themes related to contemporary issues viz. Youth in Action, Winds of Change, Contrasts and Cohesions. A detailed understanding of the themes is undertaken through extensive research.

• Project Work

To undertake the project work the participants are divided into buddy groups. In consonance with the theme of the programme various project topics or sub-topics related to Environment, Economics, Technology, Education, Culture, Sports, and Politics are assigned to participants of the programme. Each group is assigned a mentor to facilitate clear comprehension and inculcate all aspects relating to the topic followed by pre-project presentations. The final presentations are judged by esteemed judges and the best efforts are awarded and appreciated.

• Workshops

Development oriented workshops for better ingraining of cultural ties like pottery-making, puppet-shows, yoga, fashion, dance and sports workshops etc.

• Lecture Sessions

Based on the respective themes, eminent personalities deliver lectures to enhance the understanding of the participants. Some prominent speakers in the past include:

Thematic selection of places of historical, economic, cultural, social and political importance like Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, Gandhi Smriti, National Museum, Kingdom of Dreams, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Maruti Udyog, Centre for Social Research, TERI Retreat Centre, NGOs etc. are made to enhance the on-hand experience of the participants about the contemporary topics.

In the academic session 2016-17, the two most prominent outgoing programmes of OIP have been

• SRCC India USA Initiative (SIUI), Oct 7-20, 2016, USA
• Global Millennium Summit (GMS), March 18-19, 2017, Dubai

SIUI -SRCC India USA Initiative, Oct 7-20, 2016 covered 15 institutions spanning 6 Cities in 14 days. with 15 students & Faculty organiser Dr. Mallika Kumar. There were various programmes under the theme, Entrepreneurship , Innovation & Sustainability . It included Intensive International Entrepreneurship Programme with University of Wisconsin . There were lectures , workshops, Panel discussion , Group discussions , Business Pitch and official visit to renowned universities viz., Harvard, MIT, NYU & Columbia University. It also included visit and a session at Security Council, United Nations and Indian Consulate New York City (NYC).

SRCC Global Millennium Summit, March 18- 19, 2017 at Marriot Al Jaddaf, Dubai SRCC Global Millennium Summit (GMS) was the first-of-its-kind international Summit organised by the students of SRCC in association with the Office of International Programmes in Dubai on 18th and 19th March 2017 at Hotel Marriott, Al Jaddaf. It was the first International student run Summit, ever organized by any Indian University. The theme of the Summit was 'Future of the Millennium' and it entailed speaker sessions, panel discussions, workshops, case study competitions centering around Entrepreneurship, Banking, Smart cities and Technology. In order to give the students a wholesome learning experience, there was a Lean Six Sigma Training by KPMG and Yellow Belt Certification was provided to all participants.The Summit, with the support and guidance of Dr. R.P. Rustagi, Principal, SRCC saw participation of 200 student delegates from 20 plus countries and provided a platform for the future leaders to engage with each other. The Faculty Convener was Dr. Mallika Kumar and the Faculty Organising Team included Ms. Anju Verma, Dr. Yusra Naseem & Ms. Sonal Thukral .The Student Conveners for the Summit were Harry Kapoor, Rachita Kumar and Shreya Mittal, third year students of SRCC. The vision behind the summit was to make SRCC a ‘College of Global Choice’ and indeed, after the resounding success of the Summit, SRCC has made its mark in the international arena. The inauguration was done by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, the Minister of Culture & Knowledge Development, UAE, along with Shri Vijay Goel, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, India. The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was H.E. Navdeep Singh Suri, Ambassador of India to UAE. The Summit was graced by esteemed speakers like Mr. Ashish Thakkar (Youngest Billionaire of Africa and Chairperson of United Nations Foundation GEC), Mr. Keshav Bansal (Owner of IPL Team Gujarat Lions and Director at Intex Technologies India Ltd), Ms. Sumathi Vasudev, (Counsal Press, Information and Education, Indian Consulate) Mr. Sanjay Kumar (India Country Director at Harvard University SAI), among others. The National Launch of the Summit, held on February 15, was graced by Dr. Harsh Vardhan (Hon'ble Minister of Science and Technology) and Shri Ram Vinod Prasad (Director at Gulf Division, Ministry of External Affairs) at the college premises, followed by a cultural night by Zaeden with more than 7000 attendees. In the first edition of the Summit, this year itself, entries were received from 75 plus countries worldwide. The summit was indeed a huge success and provided an international platform for the future leaders of this millennium-the students, to discuss, act and interact.
